PASGT, or Personnel Armor System for Ground Troops, was used by the United States military between the mid-1980s and mid-2000s before being replaced by the Lightweight Helmet and Modular Integrated Communications Helmet. It was affectionately known among wearers as either the "Kevlar" or "Fritz" helmet, the latter due to its likeness to the German army's Stahlhelm helmet from the First and Second World Wars.
